Ok, I just wanted to get this out here. In case anyone reads this blog and thinks I believe religious people are stupid, I don’t. I try to be a little more intellectual than just saying “well you’re stupid.”
There are many reasons why people might be religious. They may have been brought up in the faith by their parents and never given it much serious thought because its not a big deal, or they might look at the universe and feel it was designed, it could be a number of things. It doesn’t make them stupid.
Human beings are not rational creatures. There are plenty of very smart, highly educated people who believe in god(s). I may have my reasons for why I feel their reasons for believing in god(s) is wrong, but that doesn’t make them stupid.
The Godless Paladin 
Ok, but I still think that most of them are stupid. The rest are simply using the belief as a way to succeed when surrounded by stupid people. But, there’s always exceptions.
I don’t know man, failing to figure out that Christianity is bogus… it’s not that hard, it’s just not. The ability to read and to comprehend what one reads is about all it takes, seems to me.
Perhaps I mistake abject cowardice for stupidity.

Godless American/Scaryreasoner: I think that the Godless Paladin is alot more mature than the both of you combined if he says people aren’t stupid for having religion. You both seem to be bigots from what you both are saying, which I hate with every fiber of my being.

No, bigoted would be thinking that religious people shouldn’t be allowed their beliefs. You know, like a lot of religious people think about gays and marriage. The accurate description of me is prejudiced; I’m prejudice against people that are religious. You’re prejudiced too, but about different things. Your prejudices may be more acceptable to society than mine are, but you are still prejudice.
Stupid is not the word for it, I agree. Lazy and intransigent are the more proper terms for it I believe.
